ESA’s latest ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) is ready for launch to the International Space Station on Tuesday, 15 Wednesday, 16 February from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
At nearly 20 tonnes, the "Johannes Kepler" cargo vehicle is the heaviest and largest payload ever built in Europe and to be launched by an Ariane. A week later the ATV will dock to the International Space Station and deliver essential supplies and reboost the Station during its mission lasting three and half months.
With lift-off scheduled for 22h13 GMT tonight (23h13 Paris), ESA will broadcast the final pre-launch images from CSG, Kourou with Ariane on its launch pad ready to go:
